SUMMER EVENTS IN RADOVLJICA
The first of the numerous summer events in the Radol’ca area is the CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL, which takes place this year on 6th and 7th June 2025. The festival takes place in Radovljica Park, in close proximity to the old town centre. More than 10 Slovenian breweries will take part in the festival, as well as local Taste Radol’ca chefs, with a great atmosphere ensured by live music from: KiNG FOO, Pero Lovšin, Prismojeni profesorji bluesa, Smetnaki and Buržoazija.
After the Craft Beer Festival, the next summer event is the INTERNATIONAL 'Shake the Change' SWING FESTIVAL, which features two evenings of organised music and dance. In Linhart Square – the heart of Radovljica’s old town centre – visitors will be able to dance with other participants of the festival and swing dance instructors. The festival will take place on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June 2025.
JULY THURSDAY EVENINGS IN THE SQUARE are traditionally reserved for evening socialising while listening to live music and enjoying local cuisine. Throughout the month there will be 5 concert evenings, featuring: Severa Gjurin (SLO), Bluzers (SLO), Zajtrk (SLO), Ember (SLO) and Dedka na svobodi (SLO).
Throughout July, Friday and Saturday evenings will be spiced up by the OPEN-AIR CINEMA, which will take place in various location throughout the municipality: Radovljica Park, Begunje na Gorenjskem (behind firestation), Šobec Camp, Podnart (village hall) and Lesce Sports Airfield.
There is also plenty on offer for fans of CLASSICAL MUSIC.
Don’t miss the concerts by Slovenski mladi abonma (a collective of young musicians) as well as the Casa de Kamna Society, Summer Concerts in the Atrium and 10 excellent concert evenings, which will take place between 9th and 26th August 2025 as part of the 43rd Radovljica Festival.
Summer is also time for numerous TRADITIONAL EVENTS in the surroudings countryside, towns and villages. Every year in Begunje na Gorenjskem, a Midsummer’s Eve celebration takes place; this year’s event will be on 23rd June. The first weekend in July will be particularly lively, as in Kropa the annual ethnological Iron Forging Festival will take place, which is dedicated to the century-old tradition of iron forging in the village, while in Begunje na Gorenjskem the traditional Urh Fair will take place. The traditional Medieval Day market will take place this year in Radovljica on 3rd August 2025, and at the end of the month, a National Folk Music Weekend will take place in Begunje.
