Follow a 'bee' through Radovljica

Set off as a family on an adventure accompanied by a cute 'bee' who will explain where she lives, what her chores are, and where she goes to gather nectar. Visit the Museum of Apiculture and see her treasures, and, as a reward, savour the taste of sweet honeybreads.

Families can set off on the adventure completely independently, however, prior to setting off it is recommended that you call in at the Radovljica Tourist Information Centre to pick up a guide booklet, which includes a family entrance ticket to the Museum of Apiculture. In addition to directions for the path, the booklet also contains fun tasks for children to complete along the way, or they can save them and complete them at home or during the continuation of a visit to Radovljica and the surroundings.

The Radovljica Beekeeping Adventure offers:

  • Four interactive points in the old town centre of Radovljica: an apiary, the life of worker bees, bees' grazing areas, and the Museum of Apiculture
  • Didactic tasks in the town, where children can hone their manual skills and learn
  • Fun, creative and educational tasks in the booklet, with which you can check your knowledge of the world of bees and develop your creativity
  • Seeking out the path with the help of a map helps in the practice of outdoor orientation and spacial recognition
  • Cooperation between children and parents in solving the tasks
  • Learning about bees in an interactive way
  • Enjoy a sweet treat of honeybreads after completing the tasks

Recommendations for the Radovljica Beekeeping Adventure:

  • The Beekeeping Adventure is available from 24th May to 31st October 2019
  • It is recommended that you visit from Tuesday to Sunday, since the Museum of Apiculture is closed on Mondays
  • It is recommended that you visit the points in order from 1 to 4, however, it isn't absolutely necessary to do so. Prior to starting, check the opening hours of the Museum of Apiculture and plan your visit to ensure that the museum hasn't closed its door prior to your arrival. From May to October the museum is open daily, except on Mondays, from 10am to 6pm. The opening hours of the museum during the remaining months of the year can be found here.
  • Should you set off on the path on a Monday, you can always visit the museum another time.
  • The path itself is very short, however, if you solve the tasks along the way it will take you approximately 1-1.5 hours.
  • The path is flat and in its entirety is suitable for small children and pushchairs/prams.
  • The Radovljica Tourist Information Centre is open from May to October from 10am to 7pm. The opening hours of the museum during the remaining months of the year can be found here.
