From Kropa to Jamnik

Jamnik is widely known for its wonderful views and the church of St. Primus and Felician. One of the ways of reaching Jamnik is on foot from Kropa.

A marked trail leads up from the market centre of Kropa to Jamnik with its stunning views. The trail leads past the Church of the Mother of God; a little further above than the church there are wonderful views of Kropa. The scenic trail leads mainly through the forest on a wide track and later on a narrower path. On reaching the Kropa-Jamnik road, a short part of the trail leads along the road then soon turns onto a path that winds its way up to the scenic ridge.

From the ridge there are fabulous views of the Ljubljana valley and the Radovljica countryside and the peaks of the Karavanke mountains and the Kamnik Savinja Alps. Due to its wonderful views, Jamnik is also known by some as the 'Balcony above Gorenjska'.

The route is currently obstructed. Note frome 17th July 2023.

Approximate hiking time: 1h 30min one-way
