From 3rd December onwards, a bistro featuring gourmet cuisine, created under the baton of leadership of the award winning chef Uroš Štefelin, awaits in Linhart Square in the old town centre of Radovljica.
The pleasant restaurant makes an ideal place to socialise over bistro food, enjoy natural wines, local gins, craft beer, Illy coffee and fairtrade hot chocolate, and soak up the views of beautiful Linhart Square while you draw up a plan for exploring Radovljica.
With its bourgeois houses, the old town centre of Radovljica boasts some of the most important medieval and renaissance achitecture and cultural heritage in Slovenia. Hiša Linhart opened to guests in 2020 as a hotel, restaurant and cookery school. The acclaimed chef Uroš Štefelin, a recipient of a Michelin Star and a Green Michelin Star for Sustainability, together with his team, create gourmet bistro food for guests.
The joint owners, Marcela Klofutar and Uroš Štefelin, opened the restaurant Vila Podvin on 1st June 2013. They breathed new life into the restaurant that had formerly been closed for two years, and also focused on working with local artists, restaurateurs, farmers and other artisans and cultural workers.
Following an unsuccessful bid to purchase Vila Podvin two years ago, Marcela and Uroš bought Hiša Linhart and, in doing so, brought new content to the building. From December 2021 the entire Vila Podvin team will be working and creating at Hiša Linhart. The former Podvin market will become the Radol'ca market, which will take place in the square in front the church, and the Uroš Štefelin cookery school, contemporary Slovenian cuisine and bistro food will remain, while numerous new stories will continue to unfold.
Our house Linhart dates from the 16th century. It has been entirely renovated and the first guests were welcomed in April 2017.
We are united by our passion for nouvelle Slovenian cuisine, which our head chef, Uroš Štefelin, creates together with our team. Uroš is a local who strives to preserve the use of local ingredients and dishes.
Should you decide to stay at Hiša Linhart, you can also enjoy its excellent breakfast or brunch.
Happy Hour takes place every Wednesday in the bistro for those under the age of 25. A discount of 25% is offered on food with the message: “The young get to know typical Gorenjska and Slovenian foods, because we care.'
