The biggest chocolate event and the most attractive culinary show in Slovenia.
During the Chocolate Festival, Radovljica becomes a really 'sweet' town. Chocolatiers and producers of other chocolate desserts and dishes ensure there are a wide range of all-things chocolate – the biggest selection in Slovenia. Tastings of the chocolate treats takes place in exchange for tasting coupons.
The three day festival features a diverse entertainment programme suitable for all generations. There are workshops and shows for children, concerts, cookery shows, exhibitions, and street artists parading through the town. Every year visitors are delighted by the festival's new features. In the past this has included, among others, the Guinness World Record for the largest (by area) chocolate bar, a chocolate fashion show and a chocolate roulette wheel.
Chocolate has been a feature of the Radovljica area for a long time. With roots dating back to 1922, Gorenjka is the most well-known Slovenian brand of chocolate and it originates here. In addition to Gorenjka in the Radol'ca area there are now three local chocolatiers: Radolška čokolada, the Molinet House of Chocolate, and Martisan Chocolate.
Radol'ca's chocolatiers are already getting ready for the 10th Radovljica Chocolate Festival.
This year, 14 chocolates from seven Slovenian chocolatiers entered the race to be awarded the title 'Best Chocolate Praline' at the 10th Radovljica Chocolate Festival.
