Opening concert of 37. Radovljica Festival
While much baroque recorder music was composed for amateur musicians, the situation in Italy was different. The Venetian ospedale that employed Vivaldi had an unusually wide range of teachers who played woodwind instruments, and Vivaldi also wrote for a number of German virtuosi. Dan Laurin has championed Vivaldi's recorder concertos for three decades. The programme will also feature an Italianate harpsichord concerto attributed to Jožef Kastelic from Šoštanj, and a trio by Arcangelo Corelli from a manuscript in Ljubljana.

An exceptional example of the gothic three-nave churches. It is adorned by beautifully designed vaults, an angel star and a black marble altar.
