Otoče - Brezje Pilgrimage Trail

Set out on a pilgrimage by train and walk the last section to the Basilica of Mary Help of Christians along an ancient pilgrimage route, like the pilgrims once did.

he trail revives the once most commonly used pilgrimage route to Brezje. From the railway station in Otoče, the way-marked trail will take you to Brezje, running predominantly across meadows and through forests, while a short section also follows the asphalt road. An optional visit can be made to the village of Ljubno to see the pilgrimage Church of the 'Stricken' Mary and observe the countless frescoes on the façades of residential houses.

Total time: 1.5 hrs

Grade: easy hiking trail
