Radol'ca joins in the celebrations for the first World Bee Day with events and new souvenirs.
On the occasion of the first World Bee Day, Radovljica's Museum of Apiculture opened a new exhibition titled 'Anton Janša in the Spotlight for World Bee Day'. The exhibition will be on view in the museum until the end of February 2019.
During the peak tourist season, the Beekeeping Education Centre of Gorenjska in Lesce offers guided tours of the centre every Wednesday at 10.30am, 1pm and 3.30pm.
The Hop-On Hop-Off tourist bus will also operate on Wednesdays during summer and will connect the beekeeping attractions of the municipalities of Bled, Žirovnica and Radovljica. The bus, named the Bee Our Guest Hop-On Hop-Off, will run on Wednesdays and complement the existing bus tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Also to coincide with World Bee Day, the Radovljica Tourist Information Centre now offers a range of new bee/honey-related souvenirs. There are attractive mugs and small plates with illustrations of a honey-based breakfast painted by Meta Solar for the Radovljica Centre for Training Work and Care with the inscription 'Slovenia, land of honey'. At this year's Radovljica Chocolate Festival the Martisan chocolatier showcased its new honey chocolate.
