Join Blacksmith Elf Along the Kropa Nail-makers’ Trail

A new family theme trail that leads through the picturesque village of Kropa. A booklet of tasks helps guide visitors to discover the attractions of Kropa, and the walk becomes a wonderful family experience.

Visitors set off on the theme trail equipped with a booklet of tasks, in which they can find instructions for the trail and a number of interesting facts about Kropa, as well as tasks to solve. You will learn about both the technical and ethnological heritage of the village, and the booklet even contains a recipe for a popular Kropa sweet treat as well as instructions for making a traditional Kropa toy – a cloth ball. A special experience awaits you in the Learning Park in Kotel, where interactive points for children are available between April and November.

The trail is particularly suitable for children between 4 and 12 years of age.

 

 

What the experience offers:

  • cooperation among children and parents in solving tasks

Recommendations for the trail:

  • The experience is available between April and November. 
  • Allow one to two hours to complete the trail.
  • The trail includes steps, therefore suitable footwear is recommended. The route of the trail can be adapted for those with children’s buggies. Part of the trail runs along the main road through Kropa, therefore it is imperative that children are accompanied by an adult and that care is taken.
  • The booklet of tasks is available at the Radovljica Tourist Information Centre, in the radolca.si webstore and in the Iron Forging Museum in Kropa.

Once you have completed the trail, a prize awaits you in the Iron Forging Museum in Kropa: a cardboard model of a Kropa blacksmith’s workshop, which you can colour and assemble.
