2025: Annual Sustainability Performance Report

In 2025, we continued implementing numerous sustainability activities in Radovljica, both within the programs of the public institution Tourism and Culture Radovljica and across various areas of municipal operations. The results achieved show that we can be satisfied with the tasks carried out.

Through established annual programs supporting projects for the preservation of nature, cultural heritage, strengthening intergenerational connections, and initiatives for different generations of residents, the Municipality of Radovljica continues to demonstrate that it primarily cares for the well-being of the local community. Projects related to energy efficiency and village infrastructure improvements also continued, and the municipality actively addressed the issue of wild camping in the regional area.

At the public institution Tourism and Culture Radovljica, we carried out several notable sustainability initiatives. At the beginning of the year, we distributed sustainability guidelines and stickers to accommodation providers, and in July and August we organized a regular shuttle service to Bled and Radovljica for camp guests, transporting as many as 11,000 passengers in a sustainable way.

We continued raising awareness among providers and visitors to the destination, strengthened staff competencies through training, and further encouraged short supply chains and the decentralization of tourist routes. In 2025, we were pleased to see an increase in overnight stays and visitors during the autumn months, as well as a record number of visits in June. During the summer, we also conducted a visitor survey and received several important insights about our guests.

During the summer season, together with the municipality, we attempted to address the issue of camping on agricultural and other areas not designated for this purpose. This was done through official initiatives, reports, and inquiries to the relevant state inspections, as well as through the media. Despite significant efforts, there have been no results so far, as the responsible ministries have not yet carried out concrete actions.

In 2025, we fully implemented 34 sets of activities, most of which are part of the regular operations of the municipality and the tourism institute, while some were one-time tasks undertaken to promote sustainability among partners in the destination.
