The culinary delights at Vila Podvin, which is surrounded by a spacious garden, are created by one of Slovenia's finest chefs, Uroš Štefelin.
This beautiful villa in close proximity to the Radovljica motorway exit offers a pleasant sanctuary and exceptional food. The spacious garden is ideal for numerous events and is a popular venue for various celebrations. In addition to head chef Uroš Štefelin's 'gourmet' menus of contemporary Slovenian cuisine, a classic menu of Slovenian food is available.
In his culinary creations, chef Uroš Štefelin revives forgotten traditional Slovenian dishes with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients from the restaurant's own garden and products from surrounding farms. The combination of an excellent team, modern techniques and creativity combine to result in dishes of contemporary Slovenian cuisine.
A variety of events are organised at Vila Podvin. Every first Saturday of the month a farmers and craft market takes place. A range of some of the finest Slovenian culinary products are available, sold under the brand name 'Slovenia Souvenir – Taste of Tradition by chef UrošŠ'. A cookery school is held for professionals, as well as cookery workshops for children and for amateur cookery enthusiasts, and motivational meetings for companies, weddings, receptions and garden parties.
Vila Podvin also has five rooms and two suites which can accommodate a total of 14 guests.

Though, in truth, I will never be a lover of winter and snow, since moving to Slovenia in 2007 I have learnt that in winter in the area where I live – Radovljica, in the northwest i.e. the alpine area - snow is a fact of life and, to some extent, have learnt to embrace it!

I quite enjoy the start of the new year in my (now) hometown of Radovljica. The hype of the holidays has faded and we can enjoy the frost-kissed landscape and snow capped mountains, which makes the fairytale town of Radovljica even more idyllic.
