Guided ski hikes on the Jelovica plateau

A unique range of ski hikes on the snow-covered Jelovica plateau. One-day and multi-day guided ski trips.

Jelovica is an alpine plateau that is almost entirely covered by forest, and it is this that makes it so special, interesting and mysterious. There are no settlements on the plateau, only a multitude of forest roads, which are mainly unmarked. This is the reason that it is not that frequented by visitors. In winter, when it is covered in snow, it's rare to meet others on the plateau, hence one almost gets a sense of being in the wild, so to speak. It is marked by its peace and tranquility, as well as wonderful views from its edges. In winter it is easiest to move around the plateau on skis. A visit to the plateau is both relaxing and recreational at the same time.

Set off on an organised one-day or multi-day guided ski hiking trip, on which, together with an experienced local guide, you will discover the mysterious mountain pastures and vantage points and, above all, enjoy the beauty of the snow-covered, almost fairytale-like spruce fir forest.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL

A moderate level of physical condition is required to take part in the activity, as the terrain is undulating and there is a total height difference of a few hundred metres. Basic knowledge of cross-country skiing is preferable, particularly the classic technique. The tour leads along existing forest trails and logging tracks and is rated as a moderate level of difficulty. Upon prior arrangement, it is also possible to adjust the tour and its level of difficulty.
