Šivec House Art Gallery features the following two units:
                  • A permanent collection of original illustrations by Slovene illustrators on the first floor; and
                  • A gallery hosting exhibitions by Slovene and foreign fine artists on the ground floor.
A rich collection of illustrations for children and youth houses the works of 27 illustrators. These portray works from renowned Slovene and foreign children's and youth literature. The oldest of these are the illustrations by Maksim Sedej, dating back to 1947, which were created for the book by Maksim Gorki entitled Childhood (Detinstvo).

The gallery, which occupies two rooms on the ground floor, hosts approximately 10 exhibitions every year. Slovene fine artists present themselves at individual and joint exhibitions. Every year, Šivec House Art Gallery hosts an exhibition held by the participants of the international fine arts workshop entitled Slovenia, open to the Art, which takes place at Sinji Vrh.

Apart from its gallery and collection of illustrations, Šivec House is also well worth a visit for its preserved unique external and internal architecture.
